We have been able to make the trip with our kids for the last 4 years on the free dining special. We are coming down in June with family and staying off site. I am having some sticker shock on ticket prices and the idea of paying for meals. Any tips?

    Hi Melissa,

When you breakdown how much you'll be saving staying off-site, it'll make the higher meal prices a little less shocking.

To save on tickets, I highly recommend Undercover Tourist. In addition, you need to take a look at the cost-saving measures available at www.mousesavers.com.

Enjoy your largest meal of the day at breakfast or lunch when the rates are less expensive. A  character breakfast will be fun but less pricey than a dinner with characters. Eat some meals off-site. Have breakfast on your way into WDW or dine on cereal, granola bars, etc before heading to Mickey's House.

When ordering at counter-service restaurants, consider sharing an entree, side item and/or dessert. You can make a great meal out of simple kiosk choices such as the baked potatoes in the Magic Kingdom.

Bring your own water bottles and carry some tide-me-over snacks!
