Hi Patrick and welcome to planDisney!
October is such a great time of year to visit Walt Disney World! I love the holiday decorations around
Magic Kingdom Park and all of the special treats and merchandise available for Halloween time.
You do not need to have purchased tickets to make any
Disney dining reservations, even if the restaurant is inside of a theme park. Tickets are not tied to dining reservations, so no need to worry about that. For Star Wars reservations at
Galaxy's Edge in
Disney's Hollywood Studios, the same is true for
Savi's Workshop to build a lightsaber and for the
Droid Depot to build a droid. You can make reservations for both of these experiences without park tickets or park reservations.
You will need to purchase your
theme park tickets before you make
theme park reservations, which are required to visit any of the four theme parks and to dine inside the parks or participate in the Star Wars experiences and since your visit is in just a few months, I highly suggest doing that as soon as possible. Take a look at the
theme park availability calendar first to make sure the days you want to visit are available for the park you are planning on going to. Tickets are currently on sale for October, so you can purchase them at any time, if you haven't already done so.
Please
stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
