    Are you able to purchase a magic key if you still owe on a previous one

    Hi there Stephanie, welcome to planDisney!

    It's exciting times right now as the Magic Key passes are available beginning today both online and in person at a Disneyland Resort ticket booth. I'm happy to help you determine if you can purchase a new Magic Key!

    Determining the best plan of action includes considering this major factor: who will be using this Magic Key?

    • If this is a Magic Key for you to technically upgrade to a higher pass outside of your 30-day renewal window, but you still owe on a current Magic Key, unfortunately, you can only have one linked to you at a time, meaning there cannot be overlapping dates of a Magic Key in your name. Current Magic Key pass holders can upgrade today (January 10, 2024) once the sale starts no sooner than 9 am PST, but this upgrade can only be done in person at a Disneyland Resort ticket booth.
    • If you are hoping to secure a Magic Key for another individual, you can do so online and link it to them upon purchase. Just know that if you are a California resident and plan to make monthly payments the California residence and billing addresses must be in the profile of the pass holder and whoever purchases with a down payment and payment plan will be financially responsible on the contract with Disney.

    I recommend reviewing the Magic Key Buying Guide for additional information before purchasing for yourself or another individual. Once you've made the decision and completed your purchase, take a big breath and celebrate because there is so much magic happening across the resort in 2024!
