Hi there, Carla!
Welcome back to planDisney! I'm thrilled you've had such a positive experience here that you've made us a regular part of your magical planning process.
As an experienced Mouseketeer, Carla, I'm sure you're aware that Walt Disney World Resort's process for bypassing standby queues has evolved over the years. From FastPass to Disney Genie+ service to Lightning Lane Passes, the name has changed, but the goal has remained the same: more time for magic!
Beginning July 24, 2024, Walt Disney World Resort will officially enter its
Lightning Lane era. With this system in place,
Guests of Disney Resort hotels (and select others) will be able to purchase Lightning Lane passes for their vacation 7 days before their check-in date while other Guests will be able to do so 3 days before their visit. When purchasing Lightning Lane passes Guests will have 2 options: Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. Lighting Lane Multi Pass can be used throughout the day to reserve select experiences during designated arrival windows. It is a one-time purchase (per day) that includes the option to enjoy multiple experiences. Lightning Lane Single Pass is also a one-time purchase but is only available for each theme park's most popular attraction(s) and is only valid for the attraction for which it was purchased.
Please keep in mind that the Lightning Lane tiers are completely separate. Single Pass attractions are not available as part of Multi Pass and Multi Pass attractions are not available as Single Pass. In reference to the specific example from your question, this means that
Soarin' Around the World and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure are not available through Single Pass. To bypass the standby queue for these attractions, you'll need to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and reserve a time to enjoy the experiences. It's also important to note that because Soarin' Around the World and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure are in the same Lightning Lane experience group you will be unable to reserve Lightning Lanes for both at the time of purchase. You will need to prioritize one and then wait until you have redeemed your first Lightning Lane of the day to select an arrival window for the other.
I hope this was helpful as you prepare to navigate the new system, Carla! I will actually be able to test it out during my vacation next week, so if you have any additional questions about Lightning Lane Passes feel free to
send them my way. I'll be happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
