    I want to be able to purchase the Genie+ for my visit in May and my park tickets and reservations are already made. After following the steps that were found it says I can’t purchase it until day of. Is there any way to purchase it now?

    Hi Kara! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question!

    I hope you are getting excited about your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. There is no better way to kick off the summer than to spend Memorial Day Weekend at the Most Magical Place on Earth! It seems like you have already taken care of your tickets and park reservations. It’s always a good idea to have them secured as early as possible since availability is constantly changing. 

    If you purchased a multi-day ticket or vacation package, you should be able to add Disney Genie+ before you arrive onsite. You will need to purchase it for your entire length of stay. It seems like you have already tried to do this and are having trouble. Make sure you have signed in to your My Disney Experience account and have selected “Park Tickets”. There should be an option to change tickets, and from there, you can modify them and add them to the service. 

    If you purchased a single-day ticket, then you cannot add Disney Genie+ until the day of your park visit. This would explain why you are receiving this message. It’s easy to add on the service the day of your visit and will not have any effect on being able to book Lightning Lane reservations when they become available. To add Genie+ the morning of your park day, log in to the My Disney Experience App and tap on the three horizontal bars on the bottom right of the screen. Select “My Genie Day” and you will see a purple bar that reads “Get Disney Genie+ for Today”. Tap on that and follow the directions to add the service. Make sure to complete this before 7 AM EST so you are ready to make your first selection at that time! 

    I would suggest calling the Existing Ticket line and speaking to a Cast Member if you are still having issues with your multi-day tickets. The Cast Member will be able to tell you if your tickets are eligible to add the service before your visit or if you need to wait. Personally, I waited until the morning of my park day to purchase on a recent trip, and it was very simple. It took less than a couple of minutes to get it squared away and I was ready to make my first selection. Plus, if you don’t want to use it each day of your visit, then you will save by not having it pre-purchased!
