Hi there, Jennifer!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Wahoo! You have a Disney Cruise Line vacation planned and I know how exciting that can be! But let me tell you, planning is only half the fun…so much fun awaits you onboard!!
I checked with Disney Cruise Line about prohibiting alcohol purchases for a particular Guest while onboard and unfortunately, they do not have a way to prohibit an adult Guest from exclusively purchasing alcohol from an onboard bar or lounge. You can remove charging privileges from a Guests’ Key to the World card which would prohibit them from making ANY onboard purchases. We often do this with our children’s Key to the World Cards not because they would go off and purchase whatever they want, but because they always seem to “misplace” their Key to the World cards. You can do this by “unchecking” a specific Guest’s name for charging privileges during the
Online Check-In process. Additionally, you can further ensure that they are not able to make any purchases by stopping by the Guest Services desk once onboard. This would be my recommendation to limit – or prohibit – a Guest from purchasing alcohol onboard.
I would also like to recommend that you, and all Guests, make sure you have the
Navigator app on your smartphones prior to setting sail. On this, you can communicate via a chat feature, check schedules of onboard activities and entertainment and even check onboard spending! I just found that feature on my last voyage and it was super handy to keep up with our onboard spending because, well…souvinEARs are just so enticing!
Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
