Ahoy Laura –
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It is great to hear that you will be “crossing the pond” to go and sail on the sea with
Disney Cruise Line! With its breathtaking décor, exquisite cuisine and fabulous entertainment, the Disney
Fantasy is sure to delight your pirate crew. Yes, you may bring a prepaid MasterCard purchased in the UK to pay for your spending and gratuities onboard. I chatted with my friends at Disney Cruise Line to find out if there are any special concerns with using an international card, and they advise you to stop over at
Guest Services after boarding the ship. Sometimes international cards do not work due to activation reasons, and guests are encouraged to monitor their spending due to many cards imposing a daily limit, or the company may hold a portion of the card for damages. Do not forget that your card will charge a fee for conversion to the US dollar that will take away from your total. My friends at Disney Cruise Line suggest that you may consider getting a debit card from a reputable bank to buy onboard credit at Guest Services as this will prevent a hold on the card. Laura, thanks for coming to “sea” us here, and feel free to visit again if you need more help.
