Are you able to pickup the wilderness explorer book in Animal Kingdom before 10 a.m.?

    Hi Leslye,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question.

One of the most underrated activities in any of Walt Disney World Resort’s Theme Parks is definitely the Wilderness Explorers program at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. Even adults get caught up in the fun of earning various badges throughout the Park and I’m thrilled to see that you’re planning to join the ranks of the Wilderness Explorers team!

I’ve picked up the Wilderness Explorers Field Guide before the attraction actually opens at 10:00 am several times. On busier days, there is often a Cast Member handing them out when the Park opens at the "headquarters" that is on your right after you exit The Oasis. If you don’t see anyone there, I would recommend speaking to the Cast Members that are in the area in order to see whether there would be a way for you to pick up your Guide right away. That being said, you’re unlikely to be able to collect any badges at any of the designated Wilderness Explorer locations until 10:00 am.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions and, remember… the Wilderness Must be Explored —“Caw! Caw! Roar!”

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
