Hello Fiona and thanks for bringing such an interesting question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
As the current British Mum here on the Panel your question really did
call out to me as I can completely agree that there's no place like home and touching base with loved ones back in the UK during a trip abroad can truly be reassuring.
During past holidays I don't believe I've ever seen any pre-paid international phone cards for sale on Disney property although I have indeed purchased them in the past from large grocery stores in the Orlando area such as Walmart. And I must add that I've never made an international call back to the UK from my Disney Resort room as I'd be concerned about the additional expenses I would incur to my hotel
Express Check-out bill!
However I'm more than happy to share that when travelling to Walt Disney World Resort I always utilise my trusty iPhone as I've discovered that when it's set to
Flight Safe Mode but yet connected to Disney's highly accessible and
complimentary Wireless Internet Access (WiFi) I can easily and
without any additional cost communicate with my folks across the pond via WiFi voice calls or better still I can show them how incredible by current Disney view is via FaceTime!
Plus of course by using the complimentary Disney WiFi I can access all the magical services of the
My Disney Experience Mobile App whilst on the move both at my Disney Resort and when enjoying the Disney Parks.
Magical wishes for your upcoming jolly holiday to
Walt Disney World Resort.
