Are you still able to pay for a Disney cruise using Disney gift cards? I saw an answer to this question but it was from 2018.

    Hi Ginger!

Welcome to planDisney, Ginger! We are so happy to have you here as you plan your Disney cruise. By the way, thanks for GIFTing us a great question! Hey, this reminds me of the fun activity onboard the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy called Midship Detective Agency. Let’s do some sleuthing to solve this mystery. We shall call it, “The Case of the Cruising Disney Gift Card.”

Our clues lead us first to the Disney Cruise Line website. In the Help Center under Frequently Asked Questions, it says YES regarding using Disney gift cards while on the ship. But you want to pay for your voyage using Disney gift cards, right? So we must keep searching!

Hmm, I’m thinking we may have better luck if we check the specific rules about Disney Gift Cards, and what better place than to go to the source itself? Let’s get our magnifying glasses out to read this part: under the Info and FAQ section on the Disney Gift Card site, it specifically says that you can “use your Disney Gift Card toward your Disney Cruise Line reservation by calling 1-866-784-1628 or online at DisneyCruise.com.”

After talking to a Disney Cruise Line Vacation Planning Specialist, she did confirm that you CAN use Disney gift cards for your cruise reservation. Aha...we cracked the case! So this is our final clue and it brings us to the end of our sleuthing. But wait, there’s more!

Like a good detective who doesn’t need to be bogged down with carrying much when solving the latest caper, your wallet doesn’t need to be exploding with Disney gift cards. So here’s what you need to do: combine your gift cards together on one Disney gift card. This can be done up to $1000. The only challenge will come if the cruise needs to be refunded to you, then it would go back to your original method of payment. For that reason, you need to hold on to the gift card(s) that you use, and that is why consolidating them is a good idea. All this can be accomplished with a Disney Gift Card account.

So I guess that about wraps this one up, and the Case of the Cruising Disney Gift Card has been solved. If you run into other mysteries, please search us out at planDisney again. Happy to be your partner in many cruise capers to come!

    SEA ya real soon!
