Are you able to park at a resort to go to a restaurant that doesn’t take reservations? For example, I’d like to go to geyser point at wilderness lodge but this restaurant doesn’t take reservations and I am not staying at this resort.

    Hi Lauren,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your great question about parking at the Walt Disney World Resort.

If you haven't visited Disney's Wilderness Lodge before, prepare to be amazed!  My first stay at this Resort hotel was with my husband during a runDisney race weekend and I was so glad we chose to stay there.  The atmosphere was both romantic and rustic, and since it was just a short water taxi to my favorite park (Magic Kingdom Park), this turned out to be one of my most treasured vacations.  I hope you have a chance to visit this Disney Resort hotel during your vacation this November, and if you are lucky, some holiday decorations may even be up during your visit!

Lauren, unfortunately most likely you will not be able to park at Disney's Wilderness Lodge without a dining or room reservation.  However, if you want to visit this Resort hotel, I do have a way for you to do it!  The easiest way is to first park at the Ticket and Transportation Center and then take the monorail or water taxi to Magic Kingdom Park.  Once you arrive there, take another short water taxi to Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  Alternatively, if you want to avoid paying for parking, you could park at Disney Springs and then take a bus to Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Another thought I have for you is to "bundle" your activities.  For example, if you want to have a meal at Geyser Point Bar & Grill, then plan for it on the day that you are visiting Magic Kingdom Park.  My family often likes to take an afternoon break, and when we are at Magic Kingdom Park, we love to visit the nearby Resorts for a meal and that gives us a little time to rest and recharge.  Since Disney's Wilderness Lodge is very close to Magic Kingdom Park, on a day that you plan to visit that theme park you may consider hopping over for a meal and then back to Magic Kingdom Park.

I hope this helps you with your plans, Lauren.  Please come back and visit us here at planDisney with all of your other vacation planning questions.  We are always happy to help you plan your next Magical adventure.

    See Ya Real Soon,
