Every detail of a DCL sailing is top-notch, from the food to the entertainment to the incredible service. There are always lots of opportunities for
Character Greetings on every sailing, which generally include Mickey Mouse and his closest pals, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto. You'll often find them sporting their finest cruisewear, or even masquerading as pirates if your itinerary includes a
Pirate Night! You may also encounter some Disney Princesses or Marvel Super Heroes - the Characters can vary between ships.
Jehan Rie, I'm happy to report that you absolutely can take your own photos (including selfies!) with the Characters. The onboard photographers usually snap some pictures, and you're welcome to capture some with your own camera. Often, if a Character has a Cast Member assisting them, they will even offer to take pictures for you so you can be in the shots. Some Characters may also be able to sign autographs, but this can vary depending on the location.
It's important to note that selfie sticks
are allowed on DCL, but they must be used responsibly while on board. They cannot be used on the
AquaDuck or
AquaMouse, or to film any of the live shows in the
Walt Disney Theater.
Before your departure, be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. This will show you all of the available Character Greetings during your sailing, so you don't miss out on quality time with your favorites!
