    I was able to get one of the final spots in the Princess 5K in WDW in FEB 2016! I'm wondering if there is a theme to dress for ( a certain princess perhaps...). Also am wondering what to wear to be comfortable depending on the weather in FL in Feb.

    Congratulations on securing a spot in the 2016 Princess 5K - I hope you are excited :) 

    As far as theming goes for next year's event, runDisney is not yet ready to reveal what magic they have planned for the most enchanted races of the year. However, I can tell you to keep an eye on runDisney's official social media channels for "clues" that will be given out over the coming months. So hang tight as excitement mounts for these royal announcements to be made. 

    Florida weather in February can be difficult to predicate. I have run this race in warm temperatures and humidity as thick as pea soup (no really, you could see the humidity in the air!) and last year I was a Frozen Fractal as we experienced unusually cold temperatures during the Princess Half Marathon Weekend.

    Here is my advice on planning your race-day costume:

    • You definitely have more options with the 5K distance as you're less likely to chafe and any discomfort in your running costume will be for a short period of time. 

    • Plan an outfit you can layer. Have a base outfit that you can wear if it's warmish and pack additional pieces you can layer under that outfit, like a long-sleeved dri-fit in a color that coordinates with your theme, and running capri's you can put under a tutu or running skirt. This approach has always worked for me because it keeps my actual costume in tact and on display while the under layers provide warmth if I need it.
