To be able to load an e-gift card to Apple wallet does the e-gift card have to purchased Disney website? Or can be from anywhere? I was gifted an e-gift card from target but I don’t see the option to add that to Apple wallet.

    Hi Connie,

Thanks for bringing us another great question today. I'd be happy to help!

It sounds like the gift giver in your life certainly knows the way to your heart. I always request Disney-related items when asked for birthday or holiday gift ideas. In fact, I'm still waiting for that size 8-night trip to Walt Disney World Resort to be delivered under my Christmas tree one year, but I'd be happy to settle for a Disney Gift Card too.

I did a little digging, and it seems that Disney eGift Cards can be added to your Apple Wallet if purchased directly from Disney. I went back through my archived emails and noticed there was no option to add the gift cards I purchased from an electronics retailer's website earlier this year. Instead, there was only a barcode I could present in-store and an Account Number and an EAN to be used for online purchases. Physical gift cards also cannot be added to an Apple Wallet at this time.

You can use your eGift Card to complete purchases through your My Disney Experience App like Mobile Food & Beverage Orders and Disney Genie+ Service. While you won't be able to store the gift card as a method of payment, you can manually enter it during the checkout process. If you already have a credit or debit card linked to your account, you'll see the option to select "Use a Different Payment Method" just below the checkout button. Enter the 16-digit Account Number and you're good to go! I like to keep the number stored as a note on my phone so I can quickly copy and paste the gift card info as needed.

My pal Aena also shared a really great tip for a guest with a similar question earlier this year. She purchased a smaller value Disney eGift Card from ShopDisney and then headed over to DisneyGiftCard.com to transfer the balance on her other cards to the newly purchased eGift Card. Once complete the merged balance was easily added to her phone's wallet using the link in the eGift Card email.

I hope this was helpful Connie! If we can answer any additional questions please come back and let us know.

Wishing you a magical trip in just a few short weeks!
