Hi. In 2020 I was able to see my husband cross the Marathon finish line in an special place. I think it was called Chear Squad. Is it going to work again in 2026? It will be my 1st marathon and my daughter wants to see me crossing the finish line. Thanks.

Welcome to planDisney, Flavia! I'm so excited to be able to answer your question today. First off, how exciting! A first marathon is a huge deal, and having your daughter there for the finish is the cherry on top. 2026 will be my third consecutive year as part of a marathon cheer squad, so I've got some great tips for your spectators to get a great spot to see you claim your victory.

For the Walt Disney World Marathon, the finish line is in the EPCOT parking lot. The simplest way for your cheer squad to reach the finish is to take the monorail. It's reliable on race mornings and lets spectators bypass most road closures and traffic holds that can slow down cars and buses. Once they arrive, they'll follow the event signage to the spectating area.

Along the finish line, you'll typically find bleachers, plus plenty of standing space right up against the barricades. If the crowds feel thick, don't stress about it; spectators are typically great about rotating spots so everyone can step forward when their runner is approaching. It's a good idea for your daughter to have a small sign, something bright, or some glow sticks so you can easily spot her in the crowd.

Here's a pro tip: carry or wear a device with location tracking turned on and share your live location with your family. Pair that with the official tracking in the runDisney race weekend portal so your squad can see your split times and get a solid estimate of when you'll hit the finish. That combo makes it much easier for them to time their arrival and snag a railing spot without waiting for a long time. It can be pretty chilly on race mornings!

I hope this answers your question, Flavia, and best of luck in your marathon training!
