Good afternoon Gail!
My name is Ariane and I am a Wilderness Explorer in Tribe 54, Sweat Lodge 12. Welcome to planDisney! As a fellow Up lover, I am so glad you asked us your question today! I also got to become a
Wilderness Explorer at Disney's Animal Kingdom recently and I had so much fun! It truly is one of my favourite activities to do at the parks, especially with little ones, as you get to interact with passionate Cast Members, learn about conservation and notice little hidden details around the park!
The colourful badges you can earn are definitely the star of the show and with over 25 of them around the park, it can be difficult to collect all of them in one trip! I know I had to work on my Wilderness Explorers handbook over two days to get through all the booths! As our animal friends Pumbaa and Timon say, however, "Hakuna Matata" no worries! You can actually bring your handbooks back on your next visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom and continue earning badges, or you can get a new one and start over. There is no need to complete the handbook in one day, so you can definitely bring it back on your next trip as the stickers can currently only be found in the park and cannot be handed out without completing the booth. I especially recommend waiting to complete it on your next trip as the Troop Leaders have a special ceremony planned for you when you complete your handbooks! I know I was very proud when I earned my last badge and loved talking about my favourite booths with the Cast Members. While you wait for your next vacation, however,
shopDisney has a nice selection of Up-themed merchandise available and you could use a new pin as a badge! You could even get creative at home and make your own badges with your family!
I hope this was helpful and if you have any other questions, we will be happy to assist you! That is, after all, what we Wilderness Explorers do!
Have a wild day and as Wilderness Explorers say, the wilderness must be explored! Caw! Caw! Roar!
