Hi. We have never been able to use our DVC points. My question is if we have Aug 2020 points, can we start a stay on 7/31/21 and stay five nights (extending into August 2021) on those points or can we only stay the first night on them?

Hey there, Jeffrey! It’s always great to chat with a fellow resident of the Keystone state about my favorite club… Disney Vacation Club!

Jeffrey, making sure that you’re able to use all of your Vacation Points is certainly important, so, like Ariel getting ready to rescue Prince Eric, let’s dive right in.

For your August 2020 use year points (if they have NOT been banked into the following year), your stay will need to be completed on July 31, 2021. So, for a five night stay using ONLY your 2020 use year points, you would want to check in on July 27th so that July 31st is your fifth night.

Now, Jeffrey, if in the future you think you may be unable to use your Vacation Points, you can bank them for use in the next use year as long as you do so by March 31st (this date is specific to your August use year). While unfortunately this doesn't help your current situation, moving forward I hope this information is useful. Banking points can be done online by logging into your Disney Vacation Club account or calling Member services.

Jeffrey, whether you're hoping to kick back island-style at the original Disney Vacation Club Resort: Disney's Old Key West Resort or are hoping to experience the newest offering in the Disney Vacation Club family of properties: Disney's Riviera Resort, or anything in between, I hope you have a Magical stay. Please come on back to planDisney with any additional questions. We love to help Members feel right at "home."
