Are we able to use any cup to get ice water from the drink stations at the resorts?

Hi, Veronica! It’s great to see you again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Playing all day at Walt Disney World Resort can definitely bring on some serious thirst in that hot Central Florida sunshine! I am happy to tell you that you are able to access regular water from the drink stations at your Disney Resort hotel without needing the Rapid Refillable Resort Mug, as it does not require a chip to activate the beverage system. In the past, I have also requested a cup from the checkout area as I was very thirsty and I explained the situation and they gave me a coffee-type cup to get my water. When you are out and about at the Disney Theme Parks, most Quick Service locations will also offer complimentary iced water to Guests if you request it. I have even asked for cups with ice only for my kids to chew on (it kept them quiet AND cool).

That being said, depending on your length of visit, the Rapid Refillable Resort Mug can really provide a great value as you have almost unlimited access to delicious non-alcoholic beverages throughout your stay. If you happen to be on the Disney Dining Plan, these mugs are actually included!

I hope this answers your question and you never go thirsty again! Come back and see us soon,

    Jen
