Ahoy there, Jared! Welcome aboard planDisney! I nearly fell overboard with excitement when I saw your plans to be sailing around the Holidays! A
Very Merrytime itinerary is a great way to celebrate the year gone by, and looking forward to the fresh start and promise of 2023!
Now I'm usually one to sing the praises of second seating, as I've had it for all but three of the cruises I've taken! That streak is going to come to an end, however, as now our young son is calling some of the shots, and though I'm firmly in the "routine goes out the window" camp on vacation, mealtimes have started to become somewhat sacred, so I totally understand the need to change.
I have good news, however, as there's a brand new way to make the request to change your seating! Now, if you hope to change your dinner seating to a time that is at capacity, you will now be able to join the waitlist directly from the "
My Reservations" page! All you have to do is log in, select your reservation and scroll down to the "Dining" section and you will be able to select "Join the Waitlist Now" if the main dining time is full at the moment!
This will put your official request in with the crew members, without having to navigate the stormy seas of calling into a crew member! While there isn't a guarantee that your request will be honored, you will be able to check which seating you have on the My Reservations page all the way up to the day of your cruise!
If it comes time to embark and you're still not in the seating you'd prefer, I do suggest you stop by Guest Services just after you get aboard. Again, there are no guarantees, but depending on how the capacity of your sailing shakes out, you may just be in luck!
Oh, and don't forget that no matter when you end up dining,
if hunger strikes (I know, unlikely on a cruise...) you can always call for some room service, 24 hours a day! I hope that gives you a few headings with which to cast off into the big blue! Thanks so much for your question, Jared, and if any others surface while you continue planning please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true! >Andrew
