Hi there, Ken!
Ahoy and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you sailed by with your question about your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation aboard the Disney Dream! You are going to have the best time on your Halloween-themed itinerary and visiting one of my favorite places, Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay!
Disney Cruise Line has a unique rotational dining system that gives Guests the opportunity to visit each of the main dining rooms during their voyage (assuming it’s at least a three-night voyage). During your four-night voyage, you will get to experience each of the three restaurants' exclusive menus as well as a special pirate-themed menu on Pirate Night. You will receive your rotational dining schedule when you arrive at Port Canaveral for embarkation and it will also be noted on your Key to the World card and on the
Navigator app once you are onboard. If you are hoping to dine at Palo one night AND want to experience each unique restaurant menu, then I would recommend making your adult-exclusive dinner reservation for Pirate Night. While subject to change, currently
Pirate Night is scheduled for Day 3 (when you visit Castaway Cay). Reservations for Palo or Remy can be made online by
logging into your account and choosing “adult dining” or they can also be made once onboard, if available. Another option, and one that my husband and I often do is make reservations for Palo later than our scheduled dining time and take our boys to the main dining room for dinner (and appetizers if something looks incredibly delicious on the menu) before checking them into the Youth Club and heading to our dinner reservation! Doing this would essentially allow you to “do it all” – experience all three exclusive menus, the pirate-themed menu AND Palo! Remember, it’s vacation and calories don’t count…especially when it comes to the souffle at Palo!
Wishing you a magical adventure with many memories made!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
