Are you able to cancel your theme park tickets due to a medical illness?

Hi Emily! I'm so sorry to hear that you or someone you know may be feeling ill. When you are planning a magical vacation to Walt Disney World, it's never fun to think about what things might get in the way of the fun. I will try to help you with some information about cancellation policies. I see that you are planning on traveling within the next thirty days, so I'll focus on that time period.

First of all, if you have purchased your tickets as part of a Walt Disney Resort Vacation Package, then you are subject to the rules for cancellations made between 2 and 29 days of arrival. You are eligible for a refund for the full amount paid for the package, minus a $200 package cancellation fee. If you would like to apply the amount paid for your vacation package to a future Walt Disney World vacation, you may do so, subject to availability and a $50 change fee per package. Please understand that all fees and prices are subject to change. I hope if this upcoming vacation doesn't work out, you can reschedule for a time when everyone is healthy! Check out some of these fantastic special offers and deals for the upcoming year.

If you purchased your Walt Disney World theme park tickets separately from your resort reservation, you have several options. First, you can make changes to your tickets, including your ticket dates, prior to midnight Eastern Time of the day before your ticket’s first valid use date. You can do this through My Disney Experience, but if you are having any issues with this, be sure to call a Cast Member specializing in existing tickets. Keep in mind that if you change ticket dates and you previously made FastPass+ selections, you will need to make new FastPass+ selections (if available) for any new dates you’ll be visiting the parks. Currently, there is no change fee to modify a ticket, but an additional cost applies for dates with higher ticket prices. No refund is given for changes from dates with higher prices to dates with lower prices.

Another possibility would be for you to transfer the ticket to another friend or family member who is able to travel. As long as the ticket has never been used before, this is okay.

Emily, I sincerely hope that everyone is healthy enough to travel later this month. If this trip doesn't go as planned, I wish you many wonderful Walt Disney World vacations in the future.

Sending pixie dust and well wishes for a speedy recovery!
