Welcome to planDisney, Kenisha.
Thanks for choosing to be our Guest. To borrow a quote from The Princess and the Frog, "You know the thing about good food? It brings folks together from all walks of life. It warms them right up and it puts little smiles on their faces." Walt Disney World has some of the
tastiest food on the planet. It's one of the things that brings people from all walks of life to
The Most Magical Place on Earth. However, during this time, Guests can be understandably nervous about eating at restaurants.
You'll be pleased to know that you are allowed to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages to the Theme Parks. My family makes sure that we load up with plenty of outside snacks whenever we visit Walt Disney World Resort. I'm talking beef jerky, trail mix, dried fruit, chips, fruit and vegetable pouches for the kids, etc. We've even brought our own sandwiches in a cooler bag for lunch. We also always bring our own water bottles too. Being a family of four, this can save us a lot of money on our trips.
Kenisha, if you do plan on bringing your own outside food and non-alcoholic beverages, you should be aware of the following
restrictions:
- They cannot be in glass containers.
- They should not require heating, reheating, processing, refrigerating, or temperature control.
- They should not have pungent odors.
Once you arrive at the security point at the Park entrance, you'll be required to notify a Security Cast Member of any food items you've brought with you.
I hope that gives you some peace of mind, Kenisha. If it helps, on my last two visits to Walt Disney World, I've been very impressed by their
health and safety measures. Even in the restaurants, the tables are spaced a good distance apart and the Cast Members were very cautious when it came to preparing and serving my food. There were plenty of hand sanitizing stations available and some places even had limited outdoor seating. I think Disney has done a great job at caring for and protecting their Guests during this unprecedented time.
Have you heard of the
Mobile Order service, Kenisha? This is available at many quick-service locations in the Theme Parks. Using the My Disney Experience app, you can order your food ahead of time and pick it up at a time that's convenient to you. This means you wouldn't have to spend as much time in the restaurant ordering and waiting for your food. I just thought I'd mention this in case you think it sounds like a good option for you.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Kenisha. If you have any more questions or would like any tips or recommendations,
don't hesitate to reach out.
ChEARS,
Mike
