Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Sandi!
You're as welcome as can here at planDisney. I love it when other Disney Vacation Club Members stop by to chat about planning a Disney Vacation and I really appreciate you stopping by with your question. Like you, I've also been curious about how long the Disney Vacation Club borrowing limits are going to last and I'm happy to share what we know, so far.
As it sounds like you already know, Disney Vacation Club introduced a restriction on
Vacation-Points borrowing in Spring 2020, which only allowed Members to borrow up to 50 percent of their available Points from the upcoming Use Year. Unfortunately, this restriction is still in place and there hasn't been any announcement about when that might be changing in the future. I know this restriction can be frustrating (I've needed to borrow above that 50 percent limit, myself), but the good news is that Disney Vacation Club has indicated that the borrowing limit is a
temporary change –– as
DVC availability continues to open up, I'm hopeful that these restrictions will be coming to an end soon.
If you're in need of just a few more Points for an upcoming visit, remember that DVC Members also have the option to purchase
one-time-use Points in order to book that perfect reservation. Each Use Year, you have to option to purchase up to 24 additional Vacation Points, which can be used to book reservations in the
7-month booking window. Just like your current Use Year Points, one-time-use Points expire at the end of your Use Year, but keep in mind that they can't be banked, borrowed, or transferred. To purchase one-time-use Points for an upcoming reservation, you can give Member Services a call at (800) 800-9800.
Thanks for visiting planDisney, Sandi. While I know this may not have been the answer you were looking for, I hope this helped to answer your question and I'm wishing you lots of Membership magic in the future!
Happy Planning,
Amy
