Hi Sarah!
Character meet and greets are indeed magical moments that bring joy and smiles to everyone's faces. Whether it's a hug from Minnie or a laugh with Donald, these interactions are sure to create cherished memories for your family.
Disney is committed to ensuring that all guests, including those with
disabilities, have a magical experience. The Walt Disney World Resort offers a variety of accommodations to meet the needs of all visitors, making it an accessible and enjoyable destination for everyone.
One of the many services available is the
Disability Access Service (DAS), which is designed for guests who cannot tolerate extended waits in a traditional queue due to a cognitive disability. If approved for DAS, you will have the ability to select return times for attractions, including many of the character meet and greets. This way, you can enjoy these experiences without having to wait in line for long periods. You’ll be able to see DAS-Eligible Options in your
My Disney Experience App if approved. You’ll then be able to select an option and you’ll be given a return time.
In addition to DAS, Disney provides a range of services to accommodate guests with disabilities. These include accessible parking, transportation options, wheelchair rentals, and assistive listening devices for guests with hearing impairments. Each park also offers Guide Maps that highlight the many accessible features and services available throughout the resort and these can also be found in the My Disney Experience App. There is also a really helpful
Accessibility Planning Guide & Recommendations that I highly recommend you look at before your trip! It's really helped me plan when traveling with my son.
Wishing you a wonderful and accessible adventure at Walt Disney World! Enjoy every magical moment!
