Are you able to activate your disney annual pass for the first time on the day it expires?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Felicia, and welcome to planDisney. I am so glad you are here.

As a Passholder for the last five years, I know the importance of this question. Sometimes we cannot activate our annual passes until many months after we purchase them. You have 365 days from the day you purchase your annual pass to activate it. For example, if you purchase on January 1, 2023, you have until December 31, 2023, to activate the pass then it will be good until December 30, 2024. Annual pass activation occurs the first time you enter through a theme park gate.

If you do not use your annual pass within 365 days of purchasing the pass then the pass will disappear from your My Disney Experience account. You may call Disney and have the value of the pass applied to a new Annual Pass.

planDisney Pro Tip: Disney MagicMobile Service can help to enter the theme parks much easier and it also allows you to access your Annual Pass benefits such as discounts on dining and merchandise. I recommend creating your Disney MagicMobile Pass just after purchasing your annual pass.

Felicia, I am here to help. Please direct any follow-up questions to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
