About Me

Hi there! I'm Lauren from central Pennsylvania and I'm so excited to be part of the planDisney Panel! I am a proud boy-mom of two school-age Avengers and wife to a public school educator. I'm a voracious reader, planner-fanatic and travel enthusiast, hoping to instill the desire to explore in my own kids. Surrounded by more than 1,200 students and over 300 staff members in my day job as the Human Resources Manager of a school district, I can't start my mornings without a tall cup of coffee! Whether at work on my lunch break, at a sporting event with my boys or out with my girlfriends, I seem to always be talking about my love of the Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line and Disney Vacation Club. In this fast-paced world, vacations are a sacred time for my family.  As soon as our feet meet the pavement at our home resort, Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, we relax, unwind and just enjoy spending time together. As a planDisney Panelist, I'm thrilled to help other families find the Magic in their vacations as well. 

About My Family

I am very lucky to have a family full of Disney-loving travelers like me. My husband (an avid Philadelphia sports fan) became a convert after our very first trip together and now we love being Disney Vacation Club members. We have two sons born in 2011 and 2013 who keep us busy every single day. They have an energy level that is enviable and at any given time are playing hockey, basketball or soccer. Along with our Disney travels, each summer we visit a different Major League Baseball park. We are hoping to check off all 30 stadiums before our little birds leave the nest. When we’re not traveling around, you might find my family debating who the best Avenger is since we have watched every movie in that franchise multiple times! We even have an Irish Wolfhound named Odin who rules over Asgard (our house) daily. Two items that top our Disney bucketlist are a trip to Disneyland Paris to visit the Avengers Campus and a trip to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i using our Disney Vacation Club points. In addition to my boy-filled household, I am blessed with a close extended family full of parents, aunts, uncles and cousins who are wonderfully supportive and always up for an adventure.

About My Disney Experience

Since my first trip to Magic Kingdom Park as a toddler in the 1980's, I have loved all things Disney. I have fond memories of shopping on Main Street, U.S.A. with my grandmother and I still love exploring every corner of World Showcase in my favorite park, Epcot. Movies like Beauty and the Beast from the Disney renaissance period are like an old friend from my childhood. Seeing those stories come to life in the parks was a wish come true. As a ten-year-old, I remember being awestruck walking into the lobby of Disney's Contemporary Resort. Fast forward 20 years to the first trip I took as a mother with my own young family, I felt the Magic all around us in a whole new light. Watching the enjoyment of my husband and little boys made me want to keep that Magic alive in our family for years to come. In 2017 we became Disney Vacation Club Members and have never looked back. The flexibility offered by Disney Vacation Club has allowed us to create trips truly personalized for us. Hearing that "Welcome Home" immediately puts us in vacation mode and I love knowing that our next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is never far away.
