About My Disney Experience
It all started in 1981, when both Walt Disney World and I turned 10! Yep, that’s right great things happened in 1971. I remember running from a rainstorm to realize we had inadvertently stepped into The Haunted Mansion line. One ride changed everything. I was enamored with special effects and the wonder of “How’d they do that?" The pristine streets, detail and fantasy captured my imagination, and I was enthralled. But seeing my childhood love, Donald Duck, pass on float sealed the deal.
While I didn’t visit the park till adulthood many years later, my love for Disney movies, specials and merchandise only grew with age. I obviously never outgrew my Disney phase. Then I met my creative, talented, animated loving artist soulmate and we connected on everything Disney. Trips became so frequent that becoming Annual Passholders just made sense. Oddly enough, my husband and I took up running in our 40’s and discovered runDisney. We have completed every race offered at Walt Disney World Resort, including the Dopey Challenge, which encompasses a 5k, 10K, half marathon and full marathon in 4 consecutive days, totaling 48.6 Magical Miles.
Our latest Disney adventure has been becoming Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members with a home property of Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. We had the pleasure of visiting Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, in Oahu, Hawaii, and fell in love with the detail and respect of the local Hawaiian culture.
